Performing Arts Teacher

Ms. Gower graduated Lambda Alpha Sigma Honors from Kean University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Education (Pk-12). Starting her career Chelsea was signed with a child agency for commercial bookings. She worked on various acting shoots with Blue Moon Studios, NBC, and Horizon Modeling.

Her passion for performance has always had a wide span from dance to design. Some of her favorite performance credits include but are not limited to Rizzo in Grease (Union County Performing Arts Studios), Fan in A Christmas Carol (UCPAC Performance; National Tour), May in Fool for Love (Kean Conservatory Production),  and Captain in Ring-a-Ding-Ding (KU Children's Touring Production). Chelsea was previously the resident Director & Choreographer for 8 seasons at Rahway Academy of Rahway, NJ  paired with the esteemed Papermill Playhouse adopt a school program. Previous to finding her place in the Performing Arts Department of OTHS, Chelsea interned at The Academy of Performing Arts High School, taught 7th Grade Theatre Arts at Hammarskjold Middle School in East Brunswick, NJ, and Directed the Performing Arts Program of Central Middle School of Stirling, NJ.

Simultaneously, she worked several years as an Acting Instructor at the elite Annie’s Playhouse for Performing Arts in Far Hills, NJ with professional students of all ages. As a Professional Teaching Artist for Musical Theatre and Adult Improvisation, she collaborated at South Street Dance Studio of Morristown, NJ. Chelsea continues to work as a Private Acting Coach with several notable Broadway child performers and as a Technical Designer for various community and educational theatre companies. Chelsea has an extensive background of Technical experience including Set Design, Scenic Painting/Construction, Costuming, Photography, Wig Styling, and Makeup. She works as a Special Effects and Theatrical artist for several theatre companies, freelances as an event artist, and fashion applications, most notably the LOFT Campaign of Time Square, NY. 

Currently she is also the Assistant Director of Morristown High Schools Theatre Department where was nominated for Outstanding Movement & Choreography by The
Rising Star Awards 2019.  Ultimately, nothing has brought fulfillment to her life quite like seeing her students shine in the spotlight. She is so grateful to find her forever home and pave her Spartan Legacy as the Spartan Players Director and Lead Instructor of the Theatre Arts Academy program. It is her honor to work with such talented students here at Ocean Township High School!
