Welcome to the Spartan School of Visual and Performing Arts

The Spartan Schools were founded in 2017.  The mission of the school is to prepare students for a 21st century workplace by offering relevant academic subjects and linking students to the outside world and potential future career paths.

The Spartan School of Visual and Performing Arts (SSofVPA) offers a four-year program in eight different majors allowing students to explore their personal interests which can lead to professional careers in their concentration.  The eight different majors are:

  • Studio Arts (2-D & 3-D)
  • Ceramics
  • Digital Media (Computer Art & Digital Photography)
  • Instrumental Music
  • Vocal Music
  • Music Technology
  • Theatre Arts
  • Dance

Through partnerships with local companies and organizations, students will participate in real-life applications through structured learning experiences.  SSofVPA students will attend events and workshops, such as Leadership Activities, Team Cohort Building, Master Classes and other experiential career specific atelier with local Visual and Performing Art Centers and Institutions.

Why Visual and Performing Arts?

According to National Core Arts Standards:  A Conceptual Framework, "Creativity and innovation are essential for the development of the necessary skills to flourish in the 21st century, as well as to promote essential skills for successful student and workplace achievement.  The goal of fostering creativity and innovation through arts education is included in numerous initiatives...across all subjects and disciplines."
